Residential Protective Coatings

We know that the floors in your home represent a large investment in your household.

Transformations Plus wants to help you protect your investment. There are a variety of types of sealers and coatings that can protect the different types of floors in your home.

Protecting Carpet – Teflon coatings can be helpful in protecting carpet and other fabric from spills and soil becoming lifelong stains. We do offer this protection, but it is important to apply this coating correctly. Many companies upsell customers for stain protection, however, the carpet must be dry prior to applying. Applying while the carpet or fabric is wet diminishes the protection as the water creates a surface that the spray cannot stick to and evaporates with the water as it dries. We schedule a second visit within 30 days of your carpet cleaning to apply this coating if you so choose to have it done.

Grout Sealing - There are multiple options for protecting grout.

img
Penetrating Sealer - This sealer is applied to the grout after cleaning and once the grout is visibly dry. This sealer will not change the look of the grout, but it simply fills in the microscopic pores of the grout to prevent water, stain, and soil intrusion.

Color Sealer – Replacing grout is an expensive and time-consuming task. We can apply a color seal on top of your existing grout. We clean your floors, allow the floor to dry completely, and then apply a color of your choice to the surface of the grout. It will still look and feel like grout, but now there is a physical barrier on your grout, which makes it easier to clean and maintain. We guarantee this sealer for 5 years.

Natural Stone

Penetrating Sealer - Natural stone is very porous. Sealing with a penetrating sealer is the minimum requirement to help keep this type of tile from staining. Sealing will not keep the floor clean but will fight water and spill intrusion and help maintain the look and quality of the tile.

Film Forming Sealer – Oftentimes a glossy finish is desired for natural stone. The best way to do this is to hone/polish the stone. However, there are film-forming finishes that can be applied to create a glossy finish.

Tile and Grout Sealing – Ceramic and porcelain tile do not require sealing for protection. However, there are special coatings that change the look and safety of your tile floors. Contact us about these options if you have slip, trip, and fall concerns or if you would like a high gloss finish to your tile and grout flooring.
